Now that week 1 is slowly coming to an end I can tell you all a bit about my first few impressions of Barcelona. This city is incredibly beautiful and big, lots of things to see and a lot of people to stumble across.
On our arrival day, Saturday, Pia and I drove to our accommodation in Sant Martí (a district not that far away from the city centre) by bus and changing twice on the metro. We had to carry our roughly 25kg heavy suitcases up and down multiple staircases, my arms are still bruised from that experience. When we arrived, we learnt that the elevator at the entrance is not functional. Only when walking up the stairs to the first floor are you able to use it. But when we first met the guys from the reception, we were positively surprised by how nice they were. Our rooms were nice and the other person living there also turned out to be friendly.
On Monday I started working at ‘Jungle Coworking’, a coworking space all themed about the jungle. We waited a bit (3½h) for our boss to arrive and he told us what he expected from us and what we should do. After that day it was really chill, our workload depended on our willingness that day and our projects were really fun to execute.
After work we often times went to the beach or shopping. We avoided ‘Barceloneta’ beach and only went to ‘Bogatell’ beach. It was often sunny but also sometimes a bit cloudy (that’s more up my alley).
To summarise, it’s cool here.
