Lena: First impressions of Barcelona 🇪🇸

¡Hola a todos! It’s already been five days since we arrived in Barcelona. The first few days were filled with a lot of organizing and managing as we had some problems with our rooming at the students residence. Nevertheless, on Sunday - our first full day - we went to the beach which was great to get used to the temperatures and step into the holiday feeling. The water was surprisingly clean and had the perfect temperature. Because we enjoyed everything so much we might have underestimated the UV Index 11 and all went home with a sunburn (some (Maria and Maxi) more than others) 🥵

After our meeting with the agency on Monday I started my internship at a hotel which is located directly in Las Ramblas. I wish I could live in a suite as beautiful as the ones at this hotel. 😅

It’s my job now to conduct a survey with guests about their stay at the hotel which is really challenging in Spanish but luckily the majority don't speak Spanish anyway. My colleagues on the other hand basically always talk to me, and of course to each other, in Spanish but I’m getting used to it more and more.

Now I’m really looking forward to this weekend full of sun and doing whatever I want but you’ll hear more about what that was in the next blog post.
