Diana H: Goodbye Barcelona - Our last two weeks

Over the last two weeks, we really enjoyed our time in Barcelona. A friend of Anesa's also came to visit us, so we showed her around the city and visited some of the most famous sights together.

One of the days, we went to Park Güell. From there, we walked to the Bunkers del Carmel, where we watched the sunset. The view from up there was amazing because we could see almost all of Barcelona. It was definitely one of my favourite moments of the trip.

On another day, we had to wake up at 5 a.m. because we went paddleboarding during sunrise. I honestly expected there to be almost nobody there because it was so early, but surprisingly, there were actually a lot of people. Watching the sunrise from the water was really beautiful and definitely worth waking up that early for. Later that day, we had acai bowls at Nudes and then visited the National Art Museum of Catalonia.

Another day, we went to the FC Barcelona stadium and visited the museum. After that, we were hungry, so we bought some empanadas and ice cream, which was very delicious.

On our second-to-last day, we went souvenir shopping for our families and friends. In the evening, we really wanted to try paella because it is one of the typical Spanish dishes. For my taste, it was okay, but I have to say that I liked the prawns the most.

Then it was already our last day in Barcelona. We had to leave our Airbnb at 11 a.m., but our flight was not until 7:45 p.m. So, we had to find a place where we could leave our suitcases. The problem was that our bus tickets had already expired, so we had to carry all of our heavy suitcases there ourselves. Honestly, that was probably one of the most exhausting parts of the whole trip. After we finally managed to leave our luggage, we went for a nice brunch and relaxed for a while.

Soon after, it was time to head to the airport. It was honestly quite sad because our time in Barcelona had been so amazing, and I really wished we could have stayed longer. When we arrived at the airport, we were all worried that our suitcases might weigh more than 23 kg. We quickly put some clothes into our backpacks just in case. Luckily, when we weighed our suitcases, they were under the weight limit.

And then something completely unexpected happened: after we finished weighing our luggage, we suddenly saw Farid Bang. We asked him if we could take a picture with him, and he said yes, although he was in a bit of a hurry. It was such a random and funny moment and definitely not something we expected to happen at the airport. After that, we ate something and it was already time to board our flight back to Salzburg.

Overall, I can honestly say that our time in Barcelona was amazing. We saw so many beautiful places, tried new things, ate delicious food and made lots of great memories. I definitely would have loved to stay much longer, but I am really happy that I got to experience these five weeks in Barcelona.
