It has been a few days since I came back to Salzburg, but somehow my mind is still in Barcelona. Everything here feels normal again, but at the same time, something is missing. Five weeks seemed like such a long time when we left, and now I would give anything to go back for just one more day.
What makes me most emotional is thinking about all the little moments that I didn’t realise I would miss so much. The walks through the city, sitting at the beach, laughing about completely random things and simply being together every day. Barcelona slowly started to feel like home, even though I always knew that we would eventually have to leave.
One of the moments I will remember the most is sunrise paddling at our workplace. Waking up early and being out on the water while the sun was coming up was such a special experience. It was peaceful, beautiful and something I wish I could experience again. Now, when I think about those mornings, I feel both happy and a little sad because I know I can’t just go back and do it again the next day.
We also had some completely crazy experiences. One of them was the crazy sofa ride. We were pulled behind a boat on an inflatable sofa and were basically trying to hold on while getting thrown around on the water. What made it even funnier was that the boat took us from one beach to another. We were laughing the whole time and somehow managed not to fall off.
And the day wasn’t even over. That same evening, we went to a concert by the French rapper Soolking. After such a crazy day at the beach, ending it at a concert with everyone was definitely something I won’t forget.
Now I’m back in Salzburg, but Barcelona definitely left a mark on me. I came home with hundreds of photos, new memories and so many stories to tell.Five weeks, way too many photos, countless memories and definitely a reason to come back.
¡Hasta luego, Barcelona!
