Irem: It's Time to Say Goodbye

My final week in Barcelona has come to an end, and looking back, it was filled with quiet moments, last experiences, and a mix of emotions.

One morning, I woke up early to watch the sunrise. As the first light touched the rooftops and slowly brought the streets to life, I stood there in silence. It was peaceful, calm — a beautiful way to start the day. It almost felt like the city was saying goodbye in its own gentle way.

I also took time to go shopping — not just for myself, but for my family and friends back home. From local markets to charming little boutiques, I wanted to find gifts that carried meaning, little pieces of Barcelona to share. Each item felt like a small thank-you from the city.

My last day at work passed quietly. Nothing out of the ordinary happened, and somehow that made it easier. Sometimes, the best goodbyes are the simple ones — no pressure, no big send-off, just a quiet ending to a meaningful chapter.

This whole experience in Barcelona was truly special. I’ve made memories I’ll carry with me for a long time. I can honestly say I would do something like this again — without a doubt. And I would absolutely recommend it to anyone considering time abroad. It’s more than worth it.

Saying goodbye to our accommodation wasn’t easy either. It had become more than just a place to sleep — it felt like home. With every little detail and familiar corner, it held pieces of our routine, comfort, and laughter. Leaving it behind made the farewell feel even more real.
