Hola!
3/4 weeks done. It’s crazy that we’re leaving this city in just a week. I mean I’m really looking forward to being home but, I’m certainly not done here either!! Time is flying by like crazy but for now, let’s review the last week:
At work it’s much the same as the last two weeks: Helping the children, stand up paddling, etc… but our female boss thought it would be a great opportunity to promote the Blue Salt School to hotels and restaurants. The three of us were the obvious candidates for the job. Unfortunately, Valentina fell ill, so it was just Rosa and me. We only did the presentations on Friday and we already had some trouble with language barriers but I am curious to see how the presentations will go next week, hopefully together with Valentina again!
My personal highlight this week was my mum’s visit. She arrived on Monday and left on Wednesday. I was really excited to see her again and of course to show her Barcelona. On Monday my mum, a friend of hers and I had dinner together and went for a walk at Barceloneta Beach. On Tuesday, we visited the aquarium together and on Wednesday, we went to Park Güell, which was really beautiful and also quite enjoyable because it wasn’t too sunny and there were many shade-giving trees. Sadly, I had to say goodbye to her after that because she was flying home.
The third weekend was also really exciting because we visited two other cities around Barcelona. Sitges and Blanes. Going to Sitges with Rosa and Moritz was rather relaxed. We had some trouble with buying the right train tickets but in the end, everything worked out fine. Sitges is a small town with not much to see but the view was stunning and we had the opportunity to buy some great things.
On Sunday, Moritz, Rosa and I and fortunately Valentina again, went to Blanes. After a long train journey, we arrived somewhere and waited for the bus into the city. After that we had to walk for 30 more minutes to reach our final destination, Cala de Sant Francesc. In my opinion, it was a bit overcrowded but the beach was still incredibly beautiful. The water was sooo clear, you could see everything.
The best thing was jumping off a cliff. Ok, it wasn’t REALLY a cliff but it was still an unforgettable experience. Another unforgettable experience was the train ride home – but for all the wrong reasons. There were soo many people and when I say many, I really mean it. The train was soo full that we were lucky to get a seat and then we were able to enjoy a free sauna for 1,5 hours.
Time abroad is the time for making good AND bad experiences and I appreciate all of them!! One week left to make memories and complete all the activities on our long list.
See you next time – also for the last time!
Adiós!
