After months of anticipation and a 2.5 hour flight from Munich, Isi, Maria, Anna and I finally arrived in the city of Heraklion.
The first thing that struck me as I was looking out of the airplane window while we were approaching to land was the beauty of the island and the blue of the sea.
Arriving here, I immediately realised how much bigger and full of life Heraklion was than I imagined it to be.
The first thing I noticed about the Greeks is that they have a completely different approach to punctuality than us Middle Europeans, but I like their way of taking things easy. As an example, on my second day of work, my boss arrived 20 minutes late and she told us that was completely normal here.
Despite being here for only 11 days, we have already seen and done a lot. We went to different beaches in Heraklion and had an excursion to Matala, a village in the South of Crete. The prettiest sight I have seen since arriving here was the harbour of Heraklion in the evening. No picture can capture its true beauty.
