Veronika K.: Salty Hair & Happy Paws: Malta Week One

The first week is sadly already over, but it has been an amazing one. The weather is sunny and warm all the time, so we spend a lot of time by the sea. The water is clear and blue — perfect for swimming and relaxing.

One highlight of this week was visiting the market in Marsaxlokk. It’s a small fishing village with colorful boats and fresh fish. The market was full of fruit, souvenirs, and local food. We really enjoyed walking around and trying some new food.

We work at a dog shelter here. The dogs are so cute and friendly. Every day we help feeding them, cleaning their kennels and taking care of them. I love playing with them and giving them lots of cuddles. It’s hard work sometimes, but it makes me really happy. One of my favorite dogs is, like I call him, "Fettwanz". He is a really cute, slightly overweight dog who is really really unique and special, but very cute in his own way.

In the evenings we like to sit by the sea and watch the sunset, but of course we did not miss St Giljan. Malta is beautiful and I can’t wait to see more!
