Our final week in Malta was the perfect mix of work and enjoyment. As our Erasmus+ stay came to an end, we continued working during the day and spent nearly every afternoon and evening by the sea. Swimming in the crystal-clear water and relaxing on the beach is something I will definitely miss.
On Friday, we had the chance to experience a traditional Maltese village festival. The streets were decorated with lights and colourful banners, music was playing and the atmosphere felt a bit like a Kirtag back home in Austria. Even after we went back to our Airbnb, we heard music everywhere. The highlight came when a marching band passed right in front of our house, we couldn't believe it. This was a very fun evening, and a great way to celebrate our last days on the island.
Our flight back home went smoothly, with no delays or issues. Luckily, my dad picked us up in Munich, which made the journey home much easier after a long day of travelling.
Looking back, this whole experience has been something truly special. From the beautiful beaches and kind people to the unexpected adventures and new routines, Malta has given me memories I’ll never forget. If I got the chance, I would definitely do it all over again.
