Hola por última vez!
My last week in Barcelona has come to an end — and it’s hard to believe how quickly this month went by!
The end of week 3 didn’t go quite as planned, because I got sick and had to stay in bed for a few days. Luckily, by Sunday I was finally feeling better and was able to join Rosa and Vanessa on a little trip to Blanes, a beautiful town right by the sea. The highlight? They jumped off a cliff into the water! I didn’t join in, but it was fun (and a bit scary) to watch.
The way back, though, was… let’s say interesting
. The train was completely packed, and with the heat and lack of space, it honestly felt more like a sauna than public transport. Still, it was worth it for the adventure!
Our last work week was actually one of my favorites. We got to do something a bit different: instead of helping at the beach, we were asked to promote the Blue Salt School by visiting hotels and restaurants around the city. That meant lots of walking, talking, and handing out flyers — but also discovering new corners of Barcelona we hadn’t seen before. It was a great way to see more of the city while doing something useful!
During our final weekend, our friend Sophia came to visit. It was really lovely to spend time together. We did a sunrise SUP tour (absolutely stunning), followed by a long brunch and — of course — lots of shopping in the city afterwards.
This whole Erasmus+ experience was filled with fun, new people, and something different every day. I truly loved it. At the same time, I was also a bit excited to go home — and when we stepped out of the plane back in Austria, it was such a “wow” moment. The air smelled fresh, clean, and familiar — and yes, maybe just a bit better than in some parts of Barcelona 😉.
I already miss the weather, though!
This month has given me so many memories, and I’m really thankful I got to experience it.
