Tobias N: The Three Weeks that flew by way too quickly!

When I first got asked if I wanted to do an Erasmus+ internship, I was really excited. I had never been away from home for this long before, and I had never even gone on a trip with my roommates. I felt proud that I got picked, especially because I'm pretty young for this.

The First Day

I remember my first real day in Barcelona clearly. I looked around and thought: this is crazy, three weeks with the guys in Barcelona. Three weeks sounded like a lot of time back then. I thought it would never end.

I didn't think the trip would feel this relaxed. I also didn't think people here would be this nice. I like talking to people, so I ended up having really nice conversations with waitresses, bartenders, and even the cashier at the supermarket.

Then Suddenly, It Was Almost Over

Yesterday, on Monday evening, we sat on the terrace and talked about how fast everything went. In the beginning, three weeks felt endless. Now it feels like it passed in a couple of days.

What I Learned in Three Weeks

A few things changed for me during this short time. I learned I can actually organize myself well, doing my own laundry, ironing, handling daily life without anyone helping me. I realized I could actually study abroad again or do a longer exchange someday, which I never would have thought before this trip. I tried new food, including dishes a friend cooked that I had never even heard of. My video editing also got so much better. I got faster, and I just understand it better now. Every single day I felt like I learned or experienced something new.

No Regrets

Looking back, I feel like we did everything right. We didn't just see the typical touristy stuff. We saw things tourists never get to see. That's what makes Erasmus+ special. You don't just visit a place, you actually live there. I'm really grateful for everything I got to experience here.

I have two days left. I'm using them to buy a few things for my family back home and to say goodbye to the people I met here.
