My second week in Lisbon has been a fantastic combination of work and free time, offering new experiences both in my internship and personal life. At Lisbon Bike Tours, I continued guiding tours, taking visitors through some of Lisbon’s most beautiful and historic areas.
In the back office, I delved deeper into the operational side of the business. In the back office, I assisted with logistics, ensuring that there are enough bikes for each tour and that every bike is in excellent working condition. One of my colleagues introduced me to the accounting system of Lisbon Bike Tours. I was shown how financial transactions are recorded and managed.
My colleagues are very nice, creating a warm and supportive environment. We’ve been enjoying our time together, both at work and outside.
Besides work, I gathered with some Spanish friends to watch the Spain vs. France football game at a bar in the heart of Lisbon, this week. Spain won, so my Spanish friends were overwhelmed with joy. It was amazing to see their excitement and be a part of such a happy moment.
Another item on my bucket list for this week was Alfama, so I’ve been exploring Lisbon with a new friend I met during one of the bike tours. We decided to explore the historic Alfama district, walking through its narrow streets, discovering local spots and watching the sunset. It was like stepping into a completely different era of Lisbon.
On Saturday, we went to the beautiful Costa da Caparica beach we traveled there in forty minutes, but the beach was definitely worth it. We ate ice cream, had a dinner by the sea, and enjoyed the warm Portuguese sun. We watched the waves of the Atlantic Ocean and Of course we also went swimming but it was pretty cold.
Overall, this week has been a wonderful mix of productive work and memorable experiences. I’m looking forward to what the coming weeks will bring in this beautiful city.
