Rui's Barcelona Diaries: Week 2

Now that the second Erasmus+ Week is coming to an end, I thought about writing a new blog post.

Some sort of virus broke out in our Airbnb, and as a result, five of us got sick one by one. The only one who hasn’t gotten sick (fingers crossedđŸ€ž ) is me!

The time I spent alone in the city was still super enjoyable as I did everything I wanted to do, like going to a museum or doing a bit of sightseeing in areas I’m still not that familiar with.

At some point during the week, we even ended up at the đŸ„, because Amelie and Flo weren’t feeling well and the meds didn’t help either. I thought it would be nice of me to go with them, but I definitely didn’t expect to wait over three hours in the emergency room
Before going to any hospital, we did our research and asked our colleagues which one we should go to. Everyone recommended going to a private hospital but to our surprise: we found out that one of their private health insurances had expired last month

We honestly felt like we were going insane in that public hospital waiting room. So yeah, make sure you get a proper private health insurance, just in case your travel insurance doesn’t cover everything. đŸ«š

Just yesterday (Thursday) I got to work and to my surprise: the office had no electricity at all. Everybody just sat at their desk doing nothing but chatting. Even the drinking water did not work, so they drank tap water which is full of chlorine here
After a while one of the three partners told us to go out and sit in a cafe because we couldn‘t do anything without our computer and there wasn’t any work for me to do anyways. In the cafe they were all talking in Spanish the whole time and I just understood like 50% of it but. The fascinating thing in Spain is, that they can talk for hours about ANY SUBJECT which is good for me because therefore I don‘t have to talk much for once. 😂

But nonetheless, the week was still super exciting, because some friends from Salzburg arrived on Monday, and I got to hang out with them in my free time. No matter if we were shopping, at the beach, or at that incredible rooftop bar, we were just having the best time.

(This city never sleeps, not even during the week! đŸ«ą)
