Roem: An Unforgettable Football Night in Barcelona

On 19 July, I had one of the best days of my Erasmus+ stay in Barcelona. It was the day of the World Cup final, and you could feel the excitement everywhere in the city. Many people were wearing Spain shirts, carrying flags, and talking about the match. My friends Anesa, Diana, and I were excited because we wanted to watch the final together with thousands of other fans.

Before the match, we went to La Rambla to buy Spain football shirts. We visited a few different shops before we found the jerseys we wanted. In the end, all three of us bought the Lamine Yamal shirt because it was the most popular one in the shop. We were really happy with our new jerseys, but after a while we noticed something funny. The number on the back was 10 instead of 19. It was the wrong number, but we just laughed about it because all three of us had bought the same shirt.

After shopping, we went to Platja del Fòrum, where the final was shown on a big screen. There were already thousands of people there, and the atmosphere was incredible. Everyone was singing, cheering, waving Spanish flags, and taking photos. It was amazing to see so many people enjoying the match together.

The game was exciting from the first minute. Every time Spain had a good chance, the crowd became louder. When Spain finally won the World Cup, everyone started celebrating. People were dancing, singing, hugging each other, and waving flags. You could hear music, fireworks, and car horns all over the city. It felt like the whole of Barcelona was celebrating together.

After the match, the metro stations were full of people, so we decided to walk home instead. The walk took about one hour, but we did not mind. We talked about the match, looked at all the people celebrating in the streets, and enjoyed the warm summer evening. Even after a long walk, the city was still full of energy, and people were still singing and celebrating everywhere.

When we finally got home, we were very tired, but it was worth it. It was such a special experience to watch the World Cup final in Barcelona with my friends. This day gave me so many great memories, and I know I will never forget this amazing night.
