Our last days in Lisbon were full of mixed feelings – we were happy about everything we experienced, but also sad because it was already time to say goodbye.
On our very last workday, we had a special task: we gave our friends a two‑hour Segway tour through Lisbon. Lea and I were excited, because it was the first time we were the real guides. But after a few minutes it felt natural, and we could show them all the beautiful places we had discovered during our internship. It was a lot of fun, and everyone was laughing the whole time.
The next day was our last full day in Portugal. We wanted to enjoy it as much as possible. In the morning we went for a relaxed brunch and just took our time. Afterwards we went to our favorite beach – Costa da Caparica. We spent the whole afternoon there, walking along the sand, swimming, and just sitting in the sun. It was the perfect way to end our stay.
In the evening we packed our bags and tried to go to bed early, because our flight was very early in the morning at 6:15. But somehow none of us could fall asleep – maybe because we didn’t want the trip to end. So we stayed awake the whole night and went straight to the airport without sleeping.
When we landed in Munich, the weather welcomed us with rain and cold wind. It was such a big change after the warm Portuguese sun. We all said the same thing: I want to go back to Lisbon!
