This Saturday was definitely one of the highlights of my Erasmus+ time in Lisbon. We started the day early and took the train to Sintra, a magical little town full of history and charm. Our first stop was the stunning palaces – the architecture and colours were absolutely breathtaking. After exploring the buildings, we walked through the beautiful Parque de Pena, where we discovered peaceful little lakes hidden between the trees. It felt like walking through a fairytale!
For lunch, we went to the old town of Sintra and enjoyed some delicious local food – it was the perfect way to refuel before the next part of our adventure.
In the afternoon, we took a bus to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe. From there, we hiked down to Praia da Ursa, one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. The hike took about 30 minutes and was pretty steep and rocky – we had to be very careful not to slip. But once we reached the bottom, it was totally worth it. The beach was absolutely stunning, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and crystal-clear water. The only downside: the water was sooooo cold! 🥶
We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing on the beach, enjoying the view and the sunshine. As the sun began to set, we hiked back up the trail and made our way home – tired but so happy.
