Moritz: Sweet 17 – Ahh... Damn, Already 18

Aktualisiert: 21. Juli

My third week in Barcelona was definitely one to remember – full of contrasts between excitement and calm.

It kicked off with a major highlight: my 18th birthday on Saturday! My sister and my friend Alejandro came to visit for the weekend, and we had a great lunch together. Later, a few friends and I went to Opium, one of the city’s most famous clubs. We stayed out all night and ended up running into the sea around 6 a.m. Then it was time to go home but the first bus just drove right past us – even though I clearly held out my hand and showed we wanted to get on. I guess the driver just wasn’t in the mood to stop for a group of tired party people that early. It was cold, we were soaked, and we couldn’t stop laughing.

That night was chaotic, spontaneous, and absolutely legendary – especially because Alejandro and I were 100% sure we’d crush Nico and the two girls in ping pong. It was one of those nights you never forget – wild, hilarious, and honestly the perfect way to celebrate turning 18.

After that weekend full of energy, the rest of the week felt a lot slower. Kerem was busy with his parents, and unfortunately Nico got really sick and is still recovering. So I spent more time exploring the city on my own – and honestly, I kind of enjoyed the quiet.

I visited the Picasso Museum, admired the beautiful Santa Maria del Mar church, and finally made it to Park Güell. I also spent a few chilled afternoons at the beach, just reading, relaxing, and enjoying the view.

Since Sunday, the weather has been perfect again – warm, sunny, and exactly what you imagine when you think of summer in Barcelona. It really lifted the mood and made the whole week feel brighter.

At work, everything went as usual. I continued with my 9–15 routine at Jungle Co-Working, which now feels like part of everyday life.

So, this week had a bit of everything: birthday memories, spontaneous sea swims, peaceful afternoons, and golden sunshine. Can’t believe, next week is already the last one – time is flying by so fast! Let’s see what the final chapter in week four brings!
