Marie S. & Ina S.: The final week is calling... but we're not ready yet☀️ – Week 1 Málaga Blog

We’ve already got a whole week behind us, even more than that by now. We’ve made new friends and had loads of brilliant experiences. In this blog post, you’ll find out more about our week, including the weekend, and of course, how Friday’s match went: Belgium v Spain. Nothing too exciting happened during the week. On Tuesday, we discovered a beach bar where we chatted with Celine and Clara until just before 3 am. Luckily, we had the day off on Wednesday.

On Thursday, we were at the beach as usual. In the evening, we’d only planned to take a few nice photos of the beach. However, we enjoyed it so much that we simply stayed until 11 pm, soaking up the sunset and the atmosphere.

On Friday, after work as we do almost every day, we headed straight to the beach. It’s almost become part of our daily routine by now. Then we decided to head home a little earlier to get ready for the football match that evening. The plan was to go out for dinner with Celine, Clara and Lion. We met up just before kick-off and had dinner together. The atmosphere was, of course, brilliant again until Belgium scored to make it 1–1. You could tell straight away that the mood had shifted slightly. A little side note: that was the first goal Spain had conceded in this World Cup.

We’re really making the most of our time here. We’ve been through a lot over the last few days, but the Spanish team didn’t let it rattle them. Just before the final whistle, Spain scored to make it 2–1, securing another victory. That evening, we also met up with Jonas and Amelie. We found out that it was Jonas’s birthday, so of course we sang him a birthday song at midnight.

On Saturday, we spent the day relaxing, as we’d arranged to meet up with Clara, Celine and Lion in the evening to check out the party scene here. We had a lot of fun and met lots of new people. Still, we have to say that, personally, we prefer the nightlife back home.

On Sunday, we set off early for Nerja together with Clara and Celine. Even though we had to wait over an hour for the bus because they were all completely full, we finally arrived in Nerja at around 12 noon. Once there, we headed straight to a kayaking club to hire SUPs. Two boards for two hours cost €120, which gave us quite a shock at first. Nevertheless, we set off for the famous waterfall. Looking back, we can say that the €120 was definitely worth it. The crystal-clear water and the stunning scenery were simply incredible. That said, we probably wouldn’t do it again. It was perfect to have seen it once, but in our opinion, once is enough. That evening, we literally fell into bed.

To sum up, we really don’t want today to mark the start of our final week. We’ve experienced so many great things so far, met wonderful people and created unforgettable memories.
