Maria: Week 2 in BCN/ Between work and relaxation

The second week in Barcelona felt very different from the first – in a good way. After all the stress with our accommodation and the messy start, things finally started to calm down. The weather, however, wasn’t really on our side this time. It was mostly cloudy and not super warm, so the beach had to wait for a few days. But honestly, that gave us a chance to slow down a bit and explore the city from a different angle.

We spent more time in the neighborhoods around us, went shopping (finally found a few things I actually needed), and tried out some food spots we’d been meaning to check out. One night we had sushi, another night hotpot – both places were really good and it was just nice to do something outside our usual routine. But no, I’m not eating out every day, don’t worry.

Work this week was also steady. I’m still enjoying it – it’s not stressful, but I’m definitely not bored either. There’s a lot of variety, and I get to contribute to a mix of tasks, which keeps things interesting. I’m especially liking the research parts, and being involved in creative decisions is something I really appreciate. The people are nice too, which makes a huge difference when you’re working in a new place.

Now it’s already Tuesday of week 3, and the weather finally turned around – it’s sunny again, bright and warm. So naturally, on Monday we headed straight to the beach. It felt so good to be back by the water. According to the forecast, it should stay like this all week, and we’re definitely planning to make the most of it.

Overall, I feel like I’ve really started to settle in here now. The city doesn’t feel unfamiliar anymore, and I’m getting into a good rhythm with everything – work, free time, and just everyday life in Barcelona.

Looking forward to what the rest of the week will bring!

Saludos
