Lukas M: A bus to Andorra

In week three, we had another lovely visitor. It’s Adem, again!

While our weekly day-to-day life was filled with exploring the city and shopping, our weekend turned out to be a bit more adventurous. We spontaneously booked a bus ticket to Andorra and back, just the night before we were supposed to leave. So we decided to go to bed early so we’d have enough time to sleep.

Waking up at 5 a.m. the following morning, we were absolutely drained of energy. We walked to the metro station, changed to another line and waited for our bus to arrive. When the bus finally came, we were very excited to finally get some sleep in and enjoy the not-so-lovely view. Don’t get me wrong, I love a long bus ride but the view was basically some villages and deserts (besides Barcelona, of course).

When we arrived, we were met by a really small city. The bus terminal wasn’t that big, and the only store from there to the city centre was a gas station. We were a bit confused about whether to speak Spanish or let Adem speak French for us. Well, they spoke Catalan with a mix of French (like saying merci and mixing in some French words as well).

The city was beautiful, the people were mostly really friendly and helpful, and I would recommend going for a visit for anyone who’s got a free day on their agenda while being in Spain or France. (Also, there were some cool cars for the people who are into that) It’s like Luxembourg’s little sister, just tinier (1/6 of it) and cheaper.
