Lena: Exploring Barcelona

ree

Holaaa, how crazy that we’re almost halfway through our internship and our time here in Barcelona.

Since I am here for four weeks I decided to take it easy and to not stress myself out with all the things to see. Nevertheless, I’ve already been to some of the most important sights and found them very impressive. After I was given the "secret“ tip that you can enter Sagrada Familia for free on Sunday, Maxi and I decided to get up early and take a look at it. However, when we arrived people were already queuing around half of the cathedral. We even decided to wait in the line which looked longer than it took actually to get to the entrance but once we were halfway through a security guide told everybody that the church is full for the mass. So, sadly we got up at 6 am on a Sunday for nothing but even from the outside the Sagrada Familia is absolutely breathtaking and all the details are so impressive.🤩

Another thing I really love about Barcelona is that there are huge sales in all of the shops so of course we also had to go shopping this week and bought some new clothes.🛍️

Regarding my internship everything is fine as well… Sometimes I really have nothing to do at all but I feel like this week passed by very quickly anyway and obviously I’m not only here to work and have time to do other cool things in the afternoons. One thing that really surprises me day by day is how the communication here is so low-context (at least at the place I work). It’s like they really tell each other very clearly if they don’t like an idea or something somebody just did and when it happened to me for the first time I felt kind of attacked but by now I got to know my colleagues better and realized that that’s just how they communicate.

Even though the cloudy and „colder“ weather was great for sightseeing and shopping this week I really hope that the weather will change for the better the following two weeks because sadly until now we couldn’t get as tanned as we hoped to. Anyway, the forecast for the next week looks pretty good so hopefully it will be like that. ☀️

Hasta la próxima!🥰
