This week brought a small but memorable surprise: one evening, the electricity went out in the apartment. At first, it felt a bit frustrating — we weren’t sure what to do, and the heat didn’t make things any easier. Thankfully, our host quickly brought over some candles, and suddenly, the situation turned into a cozy and calm experience. We ended up sitting together, chatting for hours, laughing, and just enjoying the candlelight. It was a great reminder of how much we rely on electricity every day but I think we made the best out of it.
One day, we went grocery shopping to stock up for the week and bought some noodles. To our surprise — and quite honestly disgust — we discovered tiny insects inside the packages. After that, I think I can never buy noodles again without checking what’s inside.
Aside from that, we spent more time exploring the town where we’re staying. With the ongoing festivities, the streets were lively and colorful — full of people, music, and decorations. And of course, we enjoyed the sea almost every day.
Work at the dog shelter went smoothly again this week. We had the chance to help care for a new puppy, which was a bit challenging. It was quite shocking, what our working colleagues told us where they are from.
