Jana: From Chaos to Comfort

Our Erasmus journey to Malta kicked off smoothly and without any major accidents. We arrived at the airport on time, went through check-in and security, and were happy to find that our flight had no delays. Landing in Malta, we were immediately greeted by warm sunshine, exactly the kind of welcome we had been hoping for.

For the first three days, we stayed in an apartment that was okay but not exactly what we had hoped for.  This was due to the fact that our preferred accommodation had been double-booked. Fortunately, we could move into our favoured apartments on Tuesday.

This led to a bit of a logistical challenge: we had to check out of our first apartment in the morning but couldn't check into the new one until later in the day, after work. Unfortunately, the first host didn’t allow us to leave our luggage there, and carrying all of it to work would have been nearly impossible with the buses in Malta being completely full.

Thankfully, the host of our new Airbnb was very helpful and offered to store our luggage the evening before. So, on Monday evening, we brought everything over, and with that sorted, we could head to work the next day without stress. In the end, everything worked out, and we’re now comfortably settled in our new modern apartment.

Most of our time here is spent either working or enjoying the beautiful beaches Malta has to offer. After work, we often head straight to the sea to swim, relax, and watch the boats around the island. It’s the perfect way to chill out and make the most of this unique experience.

 We’re looking forward to what the rest of our Erasmus stay has to offer and are excited to see more of Malta!
