Isabella: The Final Chapter of Our Sevilla Story

Hi everyone!

It's hard to believe that our two weeks in Seville are already coming to an end. It feels like we only arrived yesterday, trying to figure out the apartment and where everything was. Now, we're already packing our suitcases and getting ready to head home.

A different side of Spain

Last weekend, Laura and I took a trip to Cádiz, one of the oldest cities in Europe. I had been looking forward to seeing the Atlantic Ocean, and it definitely didn't disappoint.

The weather, however, surprised us. After getting used to the extreme heat in Seville, 24°C with a strong breeze suddenly felt freezing. I never thought I'd wear a hoodie in Spain in the middle of summer! Even though it was colder than expected, it was nice to spend a day by the sea and take a break from the busy city.

Meeting up with Lion

On Sunday, our friend Lion, who is spending his Erasmus+ stay in Málaga, came to visit us.

It was really interesting to compare our experiences. Even though we're all participating in Erasmus+, every placement is completely different. After talking for a while over dinner, we realised that everyone has their own funny stories and challenges.

More than just a work placement

This week was also our final week at the jewellery shop.

When we started, I was a little nervous because I didn't know what to expect. By the end of the placement, I felt much more confident. One of the highlights for me was seeing how much trust the team placed in us. They let us come up with our own ideas for videos, and it was exciting to be creative instead of simply following instructions.

Of course, not every TikTok was perfect. Some videos needed several takes because someone couldn't stop laughing, but that's what made it even more fun.

Evenings we'll remember

After work, Laura, Emily, Paula and I often spent our evenings together. Whether we were watching the 2026 World Cup, chatting in the apartment, or simply relaxing after work, these moments became some of my favourite memories from the trip.

On Thursday evening, we decided to explore Seville one last time. The city has a completely different atmosphere after sunset. The streets were lively, musicians were performing, and people were sitting outside enjoying the warm evening. It was the perfect way to spend one of our last nights together.

One Last Morning in Seville

Today (Saturday), we treated ourselves to one final breakfast before visiting the famous Plaza de España. We had saved it for our last day, and it was definitely worth the wait. The building, the bridges, and the colourful tiles were even more impressive in real life than in the photos.

Afterwards, reality kicked in: it was time to pack. Somehow, I managed to fit everything into my suitcase.

Tomorrow, we'll be flying back home.

Looking back, these two weeks were about so much more than work. I learned how to adapt to a new environment, met amazing people, improved my confidence, and experienced a new culture in a way that no holiday could ever offer.

If there's one thing I'll take home from this Erasmus+ experience, it's that the best memories are often the ones you never planned.
