Hannah K: My Last Days in Barcelona

My time in Barcelona is slowly coming to an end. I’m more than grateful for this incredible opportunity, and looking back, this past month has been full of unforgettable memories and new experiences.

Today is my last day at Spot-Locations, the company where I completed my internship. I had the chance to meet some amazing interns from England and the United States, and I got a real insight into the world of a location agency.

The last two weeks have been filled with delicious food, long walks around the city, and spending time with wonderful people. Of course, we also made the most of the beach and the pool, visiting them almost every day.

One memory that will stay with me forever is the World Cup final. Being there in person and experiencing the atmosphere was something truly special. The energy in the streets, the singing, the dancing, and the pure joy that everyone shared created a feeling I’ll never forget. It was one of those moments that you know will stay with you for a lifetime.

Unfortunately, Elena got sick during the last week and, by the end of it, I caught it too. I ended up spending two days in bed with a fever, a bad cough, and chills. Because of that, I had to take things a little slower this week: going to work, buying the last few souvenirs, and enjoying the remaining time with our flatmates.

Yesterday, we watched the sunset from the Bunkers del Carmel one last time. Now it’s time to say goodbye to our favourite supermarket, the €2.70 iced vanilla latte, and, of course, the sea.

I honestly can’t believe how quickly this month has gone by. I’m going to miss this place so much. Having our friends and family visit us made the experience even more special. Every visit gave us the chance to see Barcelona from a different perspective and create even more unforgettable memories.

Elena and I are so happy that we decided to take part in Erasmus+ this year. Not only because it helped us grow as people, but also because we got to live together in such an incredible city. This may have been the last time we worked in Barcelona, but I’m sure it won’t be our last visit.
