My internship in Barcelona is slowly coming to an end, and I am incredibly sad about it. The past few weeks have gone by so quickly, and I can't believe that our time here is almost over.
A lot has happened during the last two weeks. Our friends Iris and Alisa came to visit us, and the four of us spent a lot of time together. We went out, did some shopping, tried many different food spots, and explored even more of the city. It was so much fun having them here and creating so many great memories together.
One of the biggest highlights was celebrating the World Cup final with the Spanish people. It was such an incredible experience. The atmosphere before the game was exciting, but after the victory, the city was absolutely full of energy and celebration. Seeing everyone so happy and proud was unforgettable, and I feel very grateful that I got to be part of it.
Unfortunately, after that weekend, I got really sick. I spent several days in bed with a fever and had to take things slowly. I worked from home for one day, and on the other days, I still managed to get through my working hours because, luckily, my schedule has been very flexible. It wasn't the best way to spend my final weeks in Barcelona, but I tried to make the most of it.
Thankfully, I am feeling much better now. Sadly, Hannah got sick shortly after me because I passed it on to her. Luckily, she is already getting better, and we are slowly starting to enjoy our last days here again.
Now we are focusing on our final Barcelona to-do list. We are writing postcards, buying souvenirs for our friends and family, and making sure to enjoy a few more nice dinners together before we leave. We have also been spending a lot of time with Nicolas and Samuel, especially at the pool.
Looking back, this internship has been such an amazing experience. I have learned so much, met wonderful people, and created memories that I will never forget. Barcelona has truly become a special place for me, and I know it will be very hard to say goodbye.
I am so thankful for these past weeks, and I will miss Barcelona more than I can put into words.
