My trip to Barcelona began on Friday last week! We left Salzburg airport in the afternoon. After arriving in Barcelona, we (me and 5 classmates) immediately moved into our Airbnb, which is very centrally located. We used the weekend to settle in and get our first impressions of the city.
We went on a short tour of the city, strolled through various districts and, of course, went to the beach. As I had already spent a month in Barcelona two years ago, I was already more or less familiar with the city. On Monday, I started my internship at a law firm. My friend and I work there together and we received a very friendly welcome, the whole team is super nice. We work half days, which gives us plenty of time to get to know the city outside of working hours.
We often go out to eat together after work, which I really enjoy. A particular highlight was Tuesday, when we went out to eat with the whole company. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, and I had lots of interesting conversations. By the way, there are six other interns working at the firm who are here through university. After lunch, we usually take a short walk through the city, Barcelona has so many beautiful places to offer!
It's very hot, but you soon get used to it. We also did a few things in the evening: We went to the Bunkers del Carmel, to the Barrio Gótico and admired the Casa Batlló there. We've already done a big weekly shop and I've already been to the Mercat de la Boqueria and the Ramblas. All in all, it was an exciting and varied first week. I'm really looking forward to everything that's still to come!
See you next week :)
