Adem L: La finale

Sooo Bonjour again to everyone coming from La Réunion Island! This will indeed be my last blog, so there’s a lot to catch up on! I’ll spoiler… Mauritius, work & etc.. Anyway, how deplorable not only that this is the final goodbye, but that time is going so fast and the final year has just knocked on my door.

So before I start talking about the adventurous stuff, I wanna give you an insight into what we have done at BWT.

During my internship at BWT, a company internationally recognized for its innovative water treatment technologies and filtration systems, I was responsible for conducting a market analysis of the Indian Ocean region to identify potential growth opportunities and new customer segments.

As part of my project, I researched how water is collected, managed, and utilized across three key sectors: hospitality (restaurants and hotels), industry, and agriculture. I gathered and analyzed relevant data to produce a comprehensive report, including an introduction, an analysis of current challenges, and proposed solutions.

Finally, we presented our findings, highlighting the importance of sustainable water management while demonstrating how BWT could further expand its presence and strengthen its market position within the region.

That was time-consuming but definitely interesting! Anyway, so yes, the 3rd week we decided to go to Mauritius. I mean, those who know Alejandro and I, we need, like, really, it’s an obligation to literally go to any other country during our stay, kinda traditional. Mauritius is the neighboring island of Réunion. Honestly, it’s known (maybe) as the „fake Maldives“, at least I heard that once 😅, but what can I say, magnificent island. It’s actually quite different compared to Réunion. They have more of the Indian culture, and definitely better beaches than Réunion, & it’s quite cheap. It was for me the personal highlight, honestly, because of one boat trip we did.. honestly, I’ll not go into detail, but it was definitely something I will do 100% again.

The final week in La Réunion was quite awesome too. We did a cool hike on the active volcano. Actually, we went there by morning sooo really quite early, 2 a.m., and started at 5? It took us 3 hours to get up there… I mean, it starts at 2000 m. We hiked in the pitch darkness with only the light from a headtorch, taking approximately 1 1/2 hours to get to the top and watch the sunrise. The maximum, I think, was 2600 something, you’ll see it in the picture. Anyway, Alejandro had some troubles going down, which led us to taking 4 hours just to get down. But it’s fine because we had no stress anyways. I hope you’ll be fine from it because it was definitely a tough hike…. The final days were rather chill, just visiting our city and eating samousa like every day (It’s just Mmmmmmmmm). I don’t even know how to explain it, it’s just super delicious. But yea, that was kinda it (from my side). I’ll definitely recommend everyone doing Erasmus in general. It doesn’t need to be exactly Réunion, but anyway, who doesn’t take this chance is just dumb, honestly, dumb.
